Gasoline resistant gaskets are key components used in systems that contact with gasoline or other fuel types. These gaskets are requested to be designed with materials withstand exposure to fuels and maintaining sealing performance in temperature shock, vibration.
It is important to choose the right rubber material when design a gasoline resistant gasket.

1. Materials Used in Gasoline-Resistant Gaskets:
FKM:
FKM is a popular choice for gasoline-resistant gaskets due to its excellent resistance to fuels, oils, and high temperatures.
Its chemical stability helps prevent swelling, cracking, and degradation when exposed to gasoline, ensuring a reliable, long-lasting seal.
FKM can withstand temperatures between -20°C and 150°C.
We have low temperature FKM which could work under extremely low temperature -40°C.
HNBR:
HNBR provides good resistance to gasoline, diesel, and other fuels, making it suitable for many fuel system applications. Its hydrogenation process improves its stability and resistance to degradation when exposed to fuels.
HNBR can typically withstand temperatures between -30°C and 150°C, with some specialized grades enduring higher temperatures.
FVMQ :
FVMQ provides excellent resistance to fuels, including gasoline, diesel, and a range of hydrocarbons. Its chemical structure gives it stability in harsh environments and good fuel compatibility, though it is generally less resistant to high concentrations of aromatic fuels.
Temperature Range: FVMQ performs well in extremely low and high temperatures, typically between -40°C and 200°C, which makes it suitable for applications requiring flexibility in very cold conditions.
2. Applications of Gasoline-Resistant Gaskets:
- Fuel Systems: Gasoline-resistant gaskets are critical in automotive fuel systems, ensuring a secure seal in fuel injectors, fuel pumps, and fuel line connections. They prevent gasoline leaks that could lead to performance issues or safety hazards.
- Fuel Storage and Transport Equipment: Gaskets used in fuel storage tanks and transport lines must resist gasoline degradation. High-quality, fuel-resistant gaskets maintain safety and efficiency in systems that require long-term gasoline exposure.
- Small Engines and Power Equipment: Gasoline-resistant gaskets are used in lawnmowers, chainsaws, and other equipment powered by gasoline engines. These gaskets prevent fuel leakage, ensuring the reliable operation of the equipment.
FKM, FVMQ, and HNBR materials are all can be used for gasoline-resistant gaskets because of their fuel-resistant properties. FKM offers excellent chemical stability and high-temperature resistance, making it ideal for harsh fuel environments. FVMQ provides flexibility at extreme low temperature and reliable resistance to gasoline, particularly useful in methanol fuel applications. HNBR combines good fuel resistance with superior mechanical strength, suitable for both dynamic and static applications in fuel systems.
