Encoder discs or called encoder target are used to work with ASICs as magnet target. Higher resolution of the encoder requires the encoder disc with precise magnetic pole size and magnetic field strength.
For instance, here is the requirement of MU200 on the encoder disc(MU200 is designed for advanced applications requiring higher precision, speed, and digital communication):
- 2-Track nonius encoder disc, bipolar magnetized.
- Number of pole pairs: master 32, nonius 31.
- Temperature Coefficient of the Remanence : -0.19%/K.

By increasing the number of pole pairs of dual track disks that match the chip, the resolution of the encoder can be improved. If the IC HAUS MU200 chip adopts 64/63 polarity, the resolution can be further improved to 20 bits.
