The sealing function of o-rings are mainly decided by rubber material and size. It is important to measure the o-ring size as much accuracy as possible.

O-ring size is typically controlled by inner diameter (ID), and cross-section thickness (CS).
O-RING Inner diameter(ID) Measurement

Due to the flexible and stretchable nature of rubber products, traditional calipers are difficult to accurately measure the inner diameter of O-rings. The inner diameter of O-ring is measured with an automatic anime image measuring instrument. It can measure the inner diameter and circumference of the product by grasping and converting it to obtain the inner diameter of the product.
We use the full-automatic anime image measuring instrument, and use the optical microscope to measure the O-ring for high magnification optical magnification imaging. After the magnified image is sent to the computer through the CCD camera system, the computer automatically grabs multiple points for measurement.
O-RING Cross-section thickness (CS)

Compared to vernier calipers, thickness gauges are more convenient for directly testing the cross-section of O-rings. When we usually measure O-rings with a vernier caliper, we will measure the product’s flash in, which may result in some deviation from the actual size. By comparison, measuring with a thickness gauge can more conveniently avoid the position of O-ring flash.
